Standing as a construct from the mind of Henry James, the House of Fiction contains all the world's writers without exception. Dipping into a more metaphorical realm, we can begin to talk about stories (in both senses), stairways, windows, and ledges--some writers choose to dwell in the attic and others, in the basement. Each writer belongs to this house and creates her own lens. Every crack and window becomes a door, behind which unfolds a passage. The writers of the house look through these lenses, upon the world, and several invite the world to share in their vision. This project exists as a way to search through the house, ascending, descending, and traversing the stories, crashing and beating against walls and doors, in a frail hope to create a lens from the parted splinters through which I can truly see.
